Morlaix Bay - Louët Island and Le Château du Taureau
Between Léon and Trégor, the bay of Morlaix offers a remarkable landscape punctuated with islands and islets.
Louët Island , this small piece of rock seems to be within breaststroke reach of the tip of Pen al Lan at Carantec. And yet, Louët Island knows how to be desired and remains inaccessible on foot, even at low tide.
The island has four buildings : the lighthouse, a house and two outbuildings.
Built in the 16th century by the inhabitants of Morlaix to protect the city from English looting, the Château du Taureau was restored and enlarged by Vauban, at the request of Louis XIV.
