Skyline of Île de Ré - are you ready to spruce up your walls?
 
 Île de Ré is located on the Atlantic coast.  It is connected to the mainland by a bridge.
 Part of the Charentais archipelago, it is the fourth largest island in mainland France, behind Corsica, the island of Oléron and Belle-Île.
 
 The Île de Ré has many notable historical monuments:
 
 Near La Flotte stand the majestic ruins of the Abbaye des Châteliers. 
 The city of St Martin is protected by the Vauban Citadel,  listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
 
 There are also the remains of the Church of St Martin as well as the Port of St Martin and that of the Fleet.
 
 After cycling through the Salt Marshes , we arrive at the tip of the island to discover the Ancient Whale Tower and the Whale Lighthouse.
